Lal Kitab

Today the name of Lal Kitab is not unknown. Every common person is well aware of it. The most popular book of this decade is ‘Lal Kitab’. Lal Kitab is a special book written on Indian vedic astrology and palmistry, whose original copy is in Persian and Urdu language. Originally this book was written in Urdu language by Mr. Girdhari Lal Sharma. Later, it was translated into Hindi language and when any original text is translated, it is natural to have some change in it. Originally Indian sages, astrologers and soothsayers suggested yajna, worship and rituals as the remedies to remove ill effects caused by planets. Over time and possibly in the time of economic disparity, knowing the timeliness, Mr. Sharma, the author of Lal Kitab, suggested the simplest and cheapest remedies for different problems caused by ill effects of planets, keeping in mind the common man and later on these simple remedies became popular in the form of ‘Totka'(Simple trick or remedy to remove a problem). Despite the similarities between the astrological principles described in this book and the Indian astrology principles, there is a difference in the technique of obtaining the astrological predictions through them. The biggest feature of the Lal Kitab is that in its astrological technique, detailed and complex calculations to determine planetary transits are not required to obtain predictions and remedies as in ancient astrology. It is very easy to predict the horoscope and to obtain remedies of different problems caused by ill effects of planets using Lal Kitab methods and techniques. As its ancient copies have names of Hindu Gods and Goddesses and planets etc. and these copies include Indian ‘Samudrik Shastra’ so it is undoubtly an Indian science.
