Palmistry

Palmistry is a science and a very important branch of Indian Vedic Astrology that provides us the clear and complete information about qualities, demerits, karma(present and previous actions), fate, disease, education, present, future etc. of human beings by examining the palm of their hand. It is the very ancient knowledge and usually it was used in all countries of the world. It is very interesting science and very useful in our daily life because by using it, we can easily find out the merits and demerits, mental state and tendencies of any person comes in contact with us. Two hands are never same.

Palmistry is basically an Indian science or knowledge which kept expanding according to country, time and situation and reached from India to Greece, Egypt, Rome, China, whole Europe and to whole world. In Palmistry generally we study shape of hand, mounts on palm, lines on palm, color of palm, nails of hand, fine lines on palm etc..

Introduction of Hand in Palmistry

Hand of a person can be classified into following 7 parts:

1. Wrist
2. Complete hand claw starting from wrist to the upper part of fingers
3. Back part of hand
4. Palm
5. Thumb
6. Fingers and
7. Nails

Introduction of Mounts on Palm

While studying the palm in palmistry it is necessary to study the mounts on palm. Mounts are the medium of generation and development of lines. The slightly raised area under the base of each finger is called the mount of that particular region. The naming of these mounts are in accordance with the seven basic planets in palmistry. The merits and demerits of these planets reflects in a person’s life according to these mounts as highlighted in the palm of that person. It is usually observed that the planet which is exalted(ucch ka grah in hindi) in horoscope of a person, its mount in palm is over emerged and the respective mount of the planet which is debilitated(neech ka grah in hindi) in horoscope is pressed in the palm.

Seven Basic Mounts on the Palm

Now the description of these mounts in palm is as follows:

1. The mount which is at the base of the index finger which extends to the start of life line is called mount of Jupiter(Brihaspati Parvat).
2. The mount which is at the base of middle finger is called Saturn region or mount.
3. The mount which is at the base of ring finger and extends to heart line is called Sun region(mount).
4. The mount which is at the base of little finger and extends to heart line is called Mercury region(mount).
5. The mount which is at the base of thumb and extends to life line is called Venus region or mount.
6. The mount which is at the left of palm just opposite to Venus mount, below Mercury mount, between wrist and head line is called Moon region or mount.
7. The region just above the Venus region and bounded by life line is called Mars mount(Physical Mars region) and the region just opposite to it on the second corner of palm which is in between heart and head line is called mental Mars region in palm.
   Besides these 7 basic planetary regions two other regions are found on the palm. One of them is Rahu region which exists right in the middle(deep region of palm), below the head line, between Venus and Moon mounts and the other is Ketu region which is above the wrist from where fate line starts generally and between Moon and Venus regions.

Lines on Palm (in Palmistry)

In Palmistry for complete analysis of the hand deep study of all the above mentioned 7 parts of hands is necessary but in this Science the study of lines on palm is above all. Main lines on palm are three lines-Life line, Head line and Heart line. Some Palmistry specialists kept Mars line, Fate line, Sun line and Marriage line also in this category of main lines. The description of these lines in palm is given below:

Life Line(Vital line or Jeevan Rekha in Hindi) :

This is the basic Heart Line(Hriday Rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit):usually found in every palm and its importance is above all. Also called ‘Pitra Rekha'(Father Line) in India. Generally curved in shape it lies at the base of Venus mount and generally surrounds it completely. It always starts from the region between index finger and thumb, surrounds Venus region and reach to the wrist. Life line represents health, power, age and determines at which age a person will progress in life and in which age a person will go to decadence.

Heart Line(Hriday Rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit) on palm in Palmistry :

Starting from the base of the Mercury mount it passes through the regions below Sun mount, Saturn mount and generally reach to the Jupiter region at the end. It reveals the health of a person’s heart, his/her love life, emotional state and his/her emotional and physical relationships with others and his/her personality.

Head Line(Mastishk Rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit) on palm in Palmistry :

This line lies just below the Heart line, runs parallel to the heart line and is join to the Life line at end generally. This is also an important line in palm of a person and reveals the prosperity, wealth, fame, mental power and wisdom. It is therefore also called wisdom line. If the Head line of a person is straight, clear and without any fault then the person is quick in taking decisions, completes his/her work in planned way, active, wealthy, self-respecting and wise.

Mars Line(Mangal rekha) on palm in Palmistry :

This line lies in physical Mars region and runs parallel to life line and curved in shape generally. This is considered to be the subordinate line of Life line and helps Life line in different ways(Vital for a person as it give extra power or energy and helps to avoid accidents). These lines are usually found 1 to 4 in number in a palm.

Fate Line(Bhagya Rekha or Shani Rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit) :

It is one of the most important line in a person’s palm. This line is also called destiny line because it reveals the fate of a person according to his/her past deeds in his/her previous births. This line starts from middle of the palm or from above the wrist or from any region of palm but reach to the Saturn mount. It is therefore also called Saturn line. Desires, feelings, intellectual and mental level and abilities of a person may be experience with the help of this line to determine how much a person will progress in life.

Sun Line(Surya Rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit) :

The Sun line is also one of the wondrous lines. This line is also called Apollo, Brilliancy or Line of success. Its origin in different palms is considered to be from different regions. Regardless of where this line starts, its end will eventually be on mount of Sun. Sun line is a sign of success, failure, fame, merits and demerits of life.

Marriage Line(Vivah Rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit) :

This line, which starts from the side in the palm, lies on the Mercury mount above the heart line. The number of these lines can be more than one. The long, thin and beautiful line shows the marriage of a person with a nice spouse. This line mainly represents the life partner(personality, behaviour, character and nature of a human being’s life partner) and his/her married life.

Besides these lines other lines on palm are health line(Budh or swasthya rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit), Moon line(Chandra rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit or line of intuition), child lines(santaan rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit), lines of knowledge and science(gyan-vigyan rekha in Hindi/Sanskrit), line of siblings, rank or authority lines, friend lines, lines of vehicles, lines of journey, assistant mercury line or line of sexuality etc..
